Description of The St. Anthony A Wyndham Historic Hotel
Welcome to the St. Anthony Wyndham Historic Hotel A National Historical Landmark The St. Anthony hotel named after the city & a Saint, San Antonio de Padua, the St. Anthony was built in 1909 as the first luxury hotel in the city. A hundred years later, the St. Anthony remains as the first hotel of choice in San Antonio and for travelers around the world. Located across from historic Travis Park in the heart of downtown San Antonio; The St. Anthony is located only a few blocks from the San Antonio Convention Center, Paseo del Rio Riverwalk, Rivercenter Mall, the Alamo and La Villita. Walkable distance from River Walk and Alamo.
Old carpet, restrooms doors does not lock, toilet flush very slow and kind of scary until last minute.

Good for a night stay.

Location.
Ambiance and the overall vibe.

The hotel did not meet the 3.5 star expectations, The rooms were small and stingy, bathroom was old and dirty, lobby was good but the hallways and rooms looked from out of a haunted house. I suggest that you remove this hotel from your list. There were no additional amenities that are nowadays provided even with a 1.5 star hotel (in room microwave, fridge, free internet).

Location and

Nothing to praise.
Dingy bathroom, very small size rooms, very high beds, half of the rooms have windows that open in a closed area, some rooms dont even have a window.

Avoid it friends, very dirty bathrooms, smelly hallways, dirty floor carpets, extremly small rooms, if you are unlucky and dont get the rooms facing road then your window will open on the back of building in a closed space, very unfriendly clerks.

The staff was amazing! Especially the bartender in the lobby!
$37 for a 6 pack of bud light, other than that, there was nothing I didn't like!

The lobby is BEAUTIFUL. The beds are so comfy, my room was just huge! The staff is excellent as well. Check in was quick, check out was even quicker. Definitely would tell everyone to stay here!

The bellman was fantastic!
Rooms.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed. We make it an annual tradition to take our family to San Antonio and stay downtown in an upscale hotel room with great service and this experience was awful. They gave us a teeny tiny hotel room that didn't even have room for a crib to be set up and then made us wait in that room for 30 minutes, with two extremely tired small children, until they found us another room. Didn't bring us the key to the new room, didn't have enough towels, didn't even have hand clothes available to wash our children. No room service menus out cheap looking furniture. Tacky rooms. The only amazing part is the lobby which completely fools you as to what the actual rooms look like! read more

Interesting architecture in some areas.
Not up to star rating advertised, needs maintenance and details attended to.

It is OK and is located nicely, but is in need of cleaning and some renovations to meet the 3.5 star rating.
