Wonderful location on Nob Hill, rooms well decorated with luxuriuos bed, very clean. Great view of City and the San Francisco downtown lights.
I wasn't too taken with the Restaurant, spare and bare;none of the old San Francisco glitz and glamour.
Overall, I loved the hotel, very nice room, couldn't ask for a better location. Excellent service in all respects, from valet, to desk clerks, to consierge. Missed the big lavish old time SF restaurant, cafe spare and bare, food was very good but pricey, $l4 BLT, and $8 drink.

The room was small for two people but adequate. It would have been great for one person.
I would not have liked to dine there in that the dining area was in the bar and very open.
Thought the renovation was good. They still have not finished the entry for cars. It was awkward to go through the dining area (not divided room) to get to the reception. I don't know if this will change. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Reminded me of a boutique European Hotel.

Location.
Unfriendly.
This hotel is located in Powell & CA ST, which is good location. Even though they did remodeling recently, overall the hotel still looks outdated. The rooms were clean but the staffs were not friendly. I would not stay at this hotel next time.

Great Location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Hotel was undergo renovation. Lost electricity one day late in the evening. Hotel provided glow sticks. Rooms dated, under renovation.
I would stay at this hotel again after the renovation is completed. Great location.

It was classy. Quiet, yet friendly and most accommodating.
Everything was wonderful. No complaints.
For a short stay in a lovely city, one cannot go wrong with the Stanford Court. The staff was friendly and eager to assist from the check-in clerk to the concierge to the waiters and doormen. The rooms were small but tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It was quiet and the beds were divine. I slept like a baby. My breakfast in the hotel restaurant was delicious and the waiter was delightful and friendly yet very professional. I will definitely plan another get-away to the Stanford Court. read more

When checking in, I was asked if I wanted a room facing the courtyard which was quiet or one facing the bay which had the noise of the cable car.
The green carpet on the floors looked dirty and stained.
I would definitely stay here again. I met friendly and helpful people on my walks to Union Square, church, and China Town. The hotel staff was always available if assistance or questions needed answering. One evening the town car driver wasn't busy so he took us to Fisherman's Wharf to a wonderful restaurant. San Francisco and the Stanford Court rates high with me.

It and its staff were gracious. It was not a soulless glassy box.
There was nothing I didn't like.
Stanford Court is a gracious, older hotel that is well located. At the top of Knob Hill it might be a bit removed from the financial district, but is on 2 cable car lines. It is near Union Square. Chinatown is a short walk away. The rooms are comfortable, the staff solicitous, and the restaurant is famous in the City.
