The location was great and the hotel was excellent.
There was nothing we did not like.
The Star Inn in Cape May, NJ is associated with Congress Hall. We received a $14 voucher towards breakfast that we didn't even know we were getting. The hotel staff was great and the room was small but it was clean and quiet. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place for the price.

Our room was a small suite that was bright and clean.
You had to go across the street to the huge Congress hotel to sign in. There was no staff at all in the Star.
The Star Inn is an annex of the very large and beautiful Congress Hotel across the Street. It actually took awhile to figure out where to check in. However, our rooms were great and we loved both the Star and the Congress. We ate in the Blue Pig at the hotel. The food was delicious but the highlight was our waiter, who was attentive and fun. The breakfast items were good and reasonably priced; however, at $4.00 per cup of coffee you might do better at the local coffee shops. Would definitely go back to this hotel. read more

Great location and very historic.
The accommodations were just OK. The 1st room we had was a closet and the next smelled.
Overall, we are not likely to ever return to the this hotel partly because of your inability to help us when we needed it from you and partly because we were put in a room the size of a closet with a 2 year old without a bath tube.

The location to the beach.
Didn't know where to sign in at first.
The hotel was very clean and had parking lot for guest. It did have a damp smell, but it was a block from the beach, and the shopping.

It was squeaky clean and so quaint.
3 flights of very narrow stairs.
We were pleasantly surprised. It was immaculate. There were even glasses in lieu of usual plastic glasses hotels supply. Extremely comfortable. Very quaint. Only complaint was the 3 flights of very narrow stairs which made it difficult with a large suitcase. We would certainly stay there again.

It was convenient for our trip, we only stayed there to sleep, really.
Our room was disgustingly dirty, with an enormous water stain on the ceiling.
It was disgusting, and the front desk was incredibly unhelpful. Our heater wouldn't work so we called the front desk and he told us to "turn it on and let it run for an hour, it'll warm up." This was at 1 o'clock in the morning, we didn't have an hour to wait, and by 6 in the morning, our teeth were chattering we were so cold. When we tried to change rooms, he was very unhelpful and didn't want to let us change. read more

Quaint, pleasant, well maintained, and comfortable.
Restaurant food was not up to the quality of the rest of the facility.
Very nice, cleaned comfortable highlighted the quaint laidback feeling of the local area!

Great location. Nice suite layout.
Broken chair and sofa. Water drained slowly in the shower. Parking was a little tight.
The Star Inn motel suite met our needs. It had a great centralized location and was close to the ocean. In fact, looking out our front window, we could see the ocean between buildings. The room was clean and cheerfully decorated in a 70's sort of way. The staff was cheerful and accommodating. On the negative side, the chair in the bedroom and the sofa in the living room were broken and the water drained slowly in the shower. We have stayed at beach resort hotels in the past and have learned from experience that these places take a lot of abuse during the summers and so we never expect the highest quality in these hotels. read more
