The atmosphere made me feel right at home.
There was a little available for the traveler besides the room and lobby.

Interesting old efficiencies converted into hotel rooms.
Old bathroom was .well, really old and needed updating.
Really cool little hotel. I've never stayed in an old efficiency as a room, but it was nice having a full fridge and small oven (although I didn't use it). My only gripe would be that the bathroom was probably updated around 40 years ago. After that long there are clearly some stains that will never come out.

It was close to Starbucks.
No coffee or other amenities available, such as a vending machine or soda machine, no room service available, room was hot, and no air available.
For the price I paid to stay at the Tremont, it was not worth. No coffee, vending machines, or soda was available as was no room service. The staff was not very helpful when it came to getting a taxi. The lady at the front desk kept saying that someone would be coming to the hotel to help with this request, which I didn't understand and she couldn't explain it. In addition, the room was very warm and the control for the air conditioning / heat did not work. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Excellent location.
Scented candle in the lobby.
The Tremont hotel has an old-fashioned charm that compensates for the lack of four-star polish. The rooms are not spacious, but adequate and comfortable. Its main asset, however, is a superb location downtown, at an affordable price.

Nice boutique property.
Expensive to park downtown Chicago- $34.00 self one block away, and it was $49.00 for valet.
Excellent boutique property. Great location. Rooms in process of being renovated. Also, now a Starwood owned property.

Excellent location and great value for the money.
The Tremont Hotel is an excellent location for visiting downtown Chicago, with close access to red line subway and bus routes. We were able to get around for six days with no taxi. It is an older hotel but it is unique and very comfortable. Great place to stay if you don't have a car. I would stay here again.

Location, upgraded room, clean.
Was awoken by alleyway Garbage Weigh station, 5:30 AM - 9:30 AM noise of garbage trucks in and out. Not very biz friendly at that hr.
Hotel was fine, did not spend much time there since work related. The upgrade to the suite was nice but the alley way with the garbage trucks running from 5-9 was very disruptive. Sleep is key during biz travel or any for that matter.

1920's charm.
Seemed to need maintenance and no pool.
A charming hotel with authentic Chicago 1920's feel. Friendly staff.

The restaurant was terrific.
Moldy shower that did not drain, noisy pipes, and telephone did not work.
During shower, water was ankle deep and would not drain. Staff was not very friendly. For one night, it was manageable, but I'm reluctant to take chance again for fear of staying here again.
