A "fantastic lobby with waterfalls and pools" greets visitors to this "lush Kaanapali resort" where the "impressive scenery", "friendly service", "fabulous spa" and "awesome swimming pools" are the highlights; but it can be so "crowded with conventions that remind you of the business you left at home" that it "lacks traditional Hawaiian charm", and further disappointment is found in the "mediocre" dining; P.S. critics caution "keep your hands on your wallet" given the extra resort fees.

I thought it was crazy to charge a rental fee for beach chairs-irritating!

Loved it all, the staff, the location, the amenities, the aloha was abundant, the room was exceptional-ocean view balcony!

Loved the water slide and pool and atmosphere of hotel. Amenities like - resort fee, wireless internet were complimentary.

Staff attitude.

This hotel fell quite short of our expectations of a resort. The staff was not friendly and had bad attitudes. The room patio door and other items were broken. Not worth the money they demand. It should be noted that this is a 30 year old hotel and the rooms reflect just that.

We were very dissatisfied with our stay here. We found two roaches in our room and the other that we left under a glass for the staff to find on our check out day. Our room had a strange indistinguishable smell during our entire stay (we did not mention this to staff). And worst of all, on our last morning, our beach bag was stolen from the beach right in front of the Westin property. Although the security staff acted immediately, the hotel did not do one thing, other than apologize, to compensate us for the repeated cockroaches or for what happened to us on the beach. This was very disappointing. We will not be staying at that hotel. read more

Heavenly bed and location of hotel.
Rooms a little too small and maids never dusted the dark furniture so always looked unkempt.

We loved the hotel's location on the best part of Kaanapali Beach. Employees were very nice. Hyatt employees are more personable. We would be happy to stay here again.

Very nice room. Flat screen TV, granite counters, double shower heads.
Horrible parking situation. Noisy and crowded grounds.

The Westin Kaanapali is at an excellent location on Kaanapali Beach. The room was modern and very well appointed. There is inadequate on-site parking and the parking spaces are extremely narrow, so you can count on plenty of door dings. The valets will double park cars in front of self-parked cars making you wait for them to remove the blocking car. There is a lack of open space outdoors. It is crowded and noisy compared to its neighbors. read more

The adult pool and the grounds were beautiful.
The pool service was a little slow; short staffed.

We were very pleased and very sad to have to move to the Whaler and join the rest of our family on day three. The Whaler grounds were horrible! I never used their pool once. I wish that we could have stayed at the Westin the entire time.
