Description of The Westin Palace Madrid
Built at the direction of King Alfonso XIII in 1912, The Westin Palace, Madrid was recently restored to its original splendor. Set near the Prado, notable museums, and historic monuments, it was ranked as the #1 hotel in Spain in Cond Nast Traveler?s 2008 Gold List. The magnificent building, highlighted by an enormous stained glass dome, has long been a center of Spanish society. Among the many amenities are meeting rooms, restaurants, and a newly renovated WestinWORKOUT fitness center overlooking the city. The 468 guest rooms and spacious suites have been updated with all modern conveniences and with the Westin Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Bath. Rooms are exquisitely decorated with antique furnishings and original mahogany and plaster details., For non-US hotels, rates confirmed in USD may be converted to local currency by the hotel at your time of stay, based on the exchange rate used by the hotel. read more

Staff are rude.

Hotel architecture is awesome but staff, especially the door man, are rude. Towels in the room are dirty and smell awful. I would not stay or visit it even if it was free of charge.

I stayed in 3 different hotels in Madrid. The Melia Madrid Princessa was the best. It is a newly renovated to ultra-modern decor with lots of art work and very firm and comfortable bed. The breakfast and afternoon snack was delicious. You can upgrade the room to 'the Level' for 30 euros. The Westin Palace Hotel was also very plush, but the bed was too soft and the staff impersonal. It is a huge hotel in a good location next to the world famous Prada Museum. read more

Location was very good.
Bar prices were really out of line. Room service too.

Lovely public spaces. Room was a nice size by European standards.
