I love the character. It may not be new but it has personality.
It could definitely be upgraded without losing the character.
I love this hotel and have stayed here many times. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It has a beautiful location on the riverfront with lovely landscaping.

Great Lounge
Room service trays left in hallway too long
TEI is a beautiful country-inn style hotel with a great location on the St. Clair River just south of the Blue Water Bridge. The location is excellent for ship and boat watching. The restaurant and lounge are high quality with a very attentive staff.

The location on the boardwalk and river was very attractive.
The mattress springs were jabbing me and the AC was outdated.
The hotel is quite charming. Pictures of famous ships that pass down the river were everywhere. The restaurant is very elegant and has a nice view of the river. The bar and outdoor patio are very nice also offer a nice view of the river.

The view of the river and the proximity to the river.
The Thomas Edison Inn has a wonderful location. It is within walking distance of the St. Clair River walk, several museums and the Blue Water Bridge. The staff is friendly and the facilities are quite good.

The matress was worn out and furniture was outdated. Bed was horrible to sleep in.
The hotel was a big disappointment, mattress was uncomfortable, room was not clean. Shower head fell apart (my husband put it back together)and hotel did not have crib for baby. Hotel in general needs to be renovated.

The location was very nice being next to the St Clair River. Nice Tudor Exterior.
The rooms were very old and haven't been updated. The TV was at least 20 years old.
The front desk was not at all caring or compassionate when I complained the next day. They should have notified me upon check in that my room was directly above the wedding and that music would be played until past midnight. The hotel assistant manager handled my complaint in a terrible manner and she should go back and take a Dale Carnegie Course on how to deal with Customers. I will never go back to this hotel unless they offered me a suite at no charge, as this was suppose to celebrate my wedding anniversary and I drove 4 hours for nothing. My wife was extremely upset and disappointed ever though she knows it wasn't my fault. I wouldn't recommend this hotel based on the management I dealt with. Go to a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn it will be just a good. The only plus for this hotel is the view and location being next to the river. read more
