Description of Tradewinds Sandpiper
Relax at Sandpiper Hotel and Suites, your personal beach getaway Newly remodeled in 2006, with all accommodations non-smoking, the friendly smile of the TradeWinds Sandpiper has never been brighter, the welcome never warmer. The gentle hush of the waves mingle with soft sea breezes through the palms, calling you to leisurely days of relaxation. The hustle and bustle of everyday life is left behind as you delve into the rhythms of the tropics on St. Petersburg Beach. Unwind in the sunny Oasis Courtyard, with its heated pool and whirlpool reserved for adults. Greet the day with breakfast in bed, stretch your day in the sun with a poolside lunch, find your own niche with an island drink by the beachfront pool. Seemingly a world away from the lively family beaches and metropolitan activities, Sandpiper is a haven for peaceful moments and moonlit strolls. Services are always close at hand, from the fully equipped fitness center, to hammocks and wooden swings amongst the beachfront pines. If the mood strikes to indulge in a chocolate facial, watch the big game at a sports bar, pair up for some tennis, or get the kids involved in fun-filled activities, everything at neighboring Island Grand Resort is available for you enjoyment as well. Spacious suites, romance rooms with whirlpool tubs, and a trio of penthouses embrace the colors of the islands and reflect the special touches of a multi-million dollar renovation. From the serenity of beachside cabanas and lush green courtyards, everything is complemented by an attentive staff. Resort fee of $25.00 per night per room plus 12% tax. Many incidental and a la carte charges have been eliminated and those amenities are now included in the Resort Amenity Fee, a required nightly fee, providing services such as cabanas, paddleboats, tennis, parking, wireless internet, nightly sunset celebration and more. read more

Location and view were great! In room safe, microwave, sink and fridge. Great parking lot.
We had a two double room. A double for two is simply too less. Room too small for two double.

Great location on the beach. Nice, clean rooms. Short walks to restaurants. A little noisy during the night Karaoke and bar just a few yards away.

The hotel was right on the beach, and allowed us to take advantage of all the benefits throughout our whole day of check out. Excellent!
The parking was somewhat difficult in certain parts of the day. And the access to the different floors was a tiny bit awkward from parking garage.

The hotel was more than wonderful. I was going to a wedding this weekend with my boyfriend and I was wishing I had more time at the hotel. The hotel is good for privacy and has a good location on the beach. Very clean and eager to please staff. Had no conflicts with any part of my stay.

The front desk staff, bellhop & housekeeping were very friendly & helpful.
Breakfast
at the hotel rest was cold, overpriced & the waitress had our plates stacked one on top of the other (food on the bottom).

We had a wonderful vacation. Cissy at the Tiki bar was excellent. We did not have housekeeping clean our rooms but they were very friendly & accommodating with our request for towels and other supplies. Maintenance was very efficient when we had a AC problem. We have very bad allergies & the landscaping people kept mowing & trimming 5 ft. from everyone
at the pool area. We moved 4 times to avoid them & the noise. read more

Location, view, internet access, proximity to beach.
Little food selection, no indoor lounge, had to go to sister resort for good amenities.

Great location, staff was friendly. Most amenities are at sister hotel including indoor/lobby lounge. Rooms were clean and well kept. Each room has a mini kitchen.

High volume Spanish music by the pool.

Very good for the money.

On the beautiful beach, looked like a nice pool area.
Room was set up backwards bedroom was next to front door old newspaper in the bathroom, was it cleaned?

Went to the ball game on Sunday, did not get in early enough to use the place properly. Beautiful beach even at midnight. I did not like the resort fee added at the end when we did not use it.
