Travelodge

The room was very clean. The beds were firm like I like them. The iron was filthy. The safety latch was missing/broken off. I did not feel safe here. It was 20 minutes till check-out and we got a call asking if we were leaving yet.

It is a clean, older motel that gives access to downtown Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs.

Will not recommend, will not stay again unless only hotel with a room.

The hotel was just fine for the money.

Hotel is very old, didn't smell nice.

Definitely a 1 star, if that, hotel. While the room was tidy- the towels and bedding were not as clean as could have been - the hard surfaces (i.e. countertops) were not wiped down/cleaned well. The total exterior was covered with litter that could easily have been picked up. Litter literally lined the tree lines and poured out the dumpster. There were old sinks and remodeling debris that looked as if it had been lying there for a long while. I hard a hard time understanding why this mess hadn't been picked up and disposed of. The toilet in the room was backed up constantly -wouldn't drain well at all. The water in the tub poured out a mixture of sand and water so that the bath water was visibly dirty. The tub had a layer of mud at the bottom when a bath was drawn. The bath towels were in desperate need of replacing as they were so thin and thread bare one needed to use two towels to properly dry off. Will stay again.

I was disappointed with this hotel. I expected better accommodations for the price I paid. Canyon creek lodge, now there is a simply yet clean and pleasant stay. Unfortunately there were no vacancies. I will plan ahead next visit and stay there.
