It was centrally located.
Moldy tiles in washroom, should be 3 star hotel, not a 4 star.

This hotel should not be a 4 star establishment. Compared to other 4 star hotels in the area, this hotel is more of a 2.5 to a 3 star establishment. The room itself was ok, but it lacked the comforts of a true 4 star hotel. Moreover, the bathroom tiles were moldy and the rooms were poorly lit.

None. They should close the doors.
Cheap and junky hotel.

The worst hotel that I ever stayed with my family in 35 years of travel. The air conditioning was turned off at 114 F heat wave at nights. We were suffocating for 4 days and were not able to sleep. They should close the doors.

The breakfast which I had to pay extra for.
The size of the room was very small. The bed filled up the room and I tripped over the luggage rack.

I am sure the hotel has some nice rooms, but ours was very small. At least we had a window and the bathroom was fine.

That we only had to stay two nights.
Hot, stuffy room per hotel policy; 18 watts total light in room.

Not really adequate A/C shuts off from 3 am to 7 am in 40 C heat; total 3 x 8-watt fluorescent lighting in entire room; no chair; absolutely no amenities, only squeeze bottles of soap at sink and combination soap/shampoo in shower - sink one missing a bracket with nothing done after complaint. Double bed was two singles pushed together, with no mattress pad and individual springs felt by us both. read more

The location was excellent. It was 10 feet from the metro stop.
The staff was unhelpful. My AC didn’t work in the summer in Madrid.

Location close to restaurants.
Hotel close to a dilapidated area, empty stores closed business.

After traveling from the states arriving tired at the hotel, we where told no room was available. Waited for 30 min. 30 min more. 30min more! Room was very small, bathroom was ok. Phone charges 2.10 Euro for a local call and 900 call.

Nice view from the room, and staff that spoke English.

The hotel is clean with a friendly English speaking staff. The big obvious was that the hotel does not provide with soap bar, or individual shampoo bottles. Instead, they use they this canister of the same soap screwed to the wall. Shampoo and soap are two different things in my book, but not to them. The hotel will charge you for the Internet.

Very clean, convenient to transportation, efficient.
Surrounding neighborhood is not great though it is easy to walk to everything.

Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was. When you approach it from the outside, you are a bit put off as the neighborhood is very busy, commercial and not very attractive. The flip side is the convenience of the location which is very close to Atocha train station and the metro. You can also walk to all the major museums, Plaza Mayor, etc. Hotel itself was very nice, room was comfortable and the staff efficient (though a bit reserved and not terribly friendly). I would recommend this hotel for efficiency, cleanliness, and convenience. But if you are looking for a 4 Star, romantic hotel in a pretty part of town, this is not it. However, it suited us just fine and we had a good comfortable stay. read more

Right near metro.
In middle of summer AC could not go lower than 75 degrees and they kept the windows in hallway open.

Staff is cold and not helpful, when I explained to them that by keeping windows open day and night in the Hallway when it is 100 plus degrees outside that does not help. Somehow they thought the wind would cool things down. Not a smart bunch indeed. I explained to them the room also could not get cooler than 75 to 80 degrees and they did nothing and would not provide a fan. I told them if they could at least close the hallway windows. A very bad experience. In fairness it does have a good location and was kept clean and the decor and room is ok average not bad. read more
