Convenient from the train station (Portsmouth Harbor) and the Gun wharf area is good, despite the chained stores and eateries.
First floor reception area makes the hotel look somewhat impersonal and cold.

Good as a stopover on ones way to the ferries servicing mainland Europe and Channel Islands.

Excellent location.
Parking was confusing.

Located right in Gunwharf Quay it was easy to get around and enjoy Portsmouth. The hotel is basic but clean and staff were friendly. We found the parking a bit confusing - there was no signage by the hotel front door and there is no access from the underground parking to the hotel (you have to walk back up the ramp or through the shopping parade).
