Wonderful atmosphere of a country manor house.
No AC.
While parts of this hotel are hundreds of years old, our room was very contemporary. My husband and I loved the feel of on country manor house with modern amenities. The grounds were just beautiful. We ate several meals there and were pleased with the food. Very helpful staff.

Conveniently located near Gatwick airport with easy shuttle access.
Very old, but rooms were modern and clean.
This hotel is conveniently located near the airport and has a shuttle that goes to the airport every 20 minutes ($5). The hotel is one level, sprawling across a large property. Much of the hotel is hundreds of years old and has an English country farmhouse vibe.

Included a fan with the room.
Unpleasant smell in room. Had to switch rooms in middle of night because of strong odor. Not sure what was. Some sort of fumes.
This hotel did not meet my expectations. It is inconvenient to reach if traveling by public transportation. The staff was competent, but not overly friendly.

Very helpful at check.
I arrived very late.
I either did not hear or did not get my wake up call.
This is a satisfactory hotel. the twin room was comfortable enough but not large. The room was very hot and I couldn't see any way to turn down the heat. I missed my wake up call and missed my bus, consequently I didn't get anything to eat until 2:30pm on the plane.

It was clean and away from the riffraff.
The carpet was worn in my room.
The hotel has a nice restaurant, a buffet, and a bar. Three places to eat. A coupon for breakfast can be purchased for 10 GBP which will save some money on breakfast.

Food a little expensive.
This was my third stay at hotel, great stopover on trips to Europe, courtesy van from Gatwick and lovely restful environment.

Beautiful old English country manor with classic style.
Not connected to mass transit requiring taxi or car to access.
Very quaint, historical English country manor converted into hotel. Clean rooms and restaurant/bar on premises. Only downside seemed to be the difficulty accessing the facility via mass transit at odd hours. Overall, a very positive experience though.
