Hotel Guest Reviews of the Econo Lodge Barstow

The pool is a lifesaver after travelling across the desert all day.
Not very clean.

Internet was out when we arrived and was needed for next days voyage. Staff was not helpful in solving this problem. Only 2 towels in a room for 4. Could not take a bath, no stopper. Continental breakfast was horrible. The orange juice was watered down, there were 4 pieces of bread for toast and 5 pre wrapped muffins. I guess if you are just looking for a cheap place to crash and don't really care about frills, it would be a good place to stop. read more

Clean rooms.
Dirty pool.

Clean rooms with okay beds. Pool was dirty and the front door of the hotel was broken making it difficult to enter to register/breakfast.

Hotel was not well maintained or cleaned.

It was a poor excuse for a dive-in. The owners apparently do not spend any money on maintenance of the facility, lights were not working and all other systems seem to have been repaired after failures multiple times-with mixed results.

Quiet, near restaurants, good looking exterior.
Harsh paper products, very mediocre interior.

Just travewling through it is fine but has a somewhat depressing effect on a person because it is so plain albeit clean.

Nothing.
The parking lot, the age, the beds, the night traffic outside my room - these were all bad.

The hotel have done the best they could with a 1940's facility. The staff was very welcoming also.

Easy to find, cheap room rate.
The out door pool was very dirty. No ventilation in washroom.

I will not revisit this motel.

Hotel accomodations were adequate, however the front desk clerk left much to be desired. He had to be summoned to the front each time you entered the lobby (even though a bell rang) and simply seemed uninterested in assisting in any way. We requested an additional pillow and were told that there weren't any - Yet the hotel was far from sold out! Guess it was just too much to ask! read more

It was better then the last.
It says heated pool but its not.

It was clean and quite. That's all I could ask for.

Location.
Room clerk rude - room worn out.

Not a terrible experience considering the price but I have stayed in other hotels in the immediate area for the same price that were in better repair, cleaner and did not have a rude room clerk.

It was not as bad as other hotels in Barstow.
It had a terrible room freshener smell to it that probably disguised a lack of genuine cleanliness.

It was shabby and the room smelled bad. The poor was very dirty.
