The upstairs bar!

If I would have paid full price for this hotel, I would have been outraged. Bar was closed at 10. I'm not a big drinker, but wanted to unwind with my husband and we couldn't even do that. They had no reason for it, it is usually open till midnight, they told us. The room was in a horrible location and then they over charged us. I later got the charges taken off, but they decided to charge us for parking because we weren't paying guest. read more

Conveniently located to Dana Pt. Harbor--Pleasant rooms
They tried to charge $22.00 per day for parking--ridiculous.

DoubleTree is a relatively small (195 rms) boutique operation which attempts to cater both to families and business travelers. Ambiance is pleasant, service is attentive, and the facility is convenient to all Dana Pt., and surrounding attractions.

The hotel staff was very helpful in accomodating my request for a non smoking room and a last minute request for an Ocean View room!
Daily fee of $22.00 for parking.

Great hotel and awesome staff. The location is a bit difficult but manageable. We would definitely go back there again!

It was very close to Doheny Beach, right across the street in fact. Wonderful.
Didn't have a view of anything but the folks partying down stairs.

Nice. Pleasantly. We did enjoy the size of the room. The separating from the bedroom to the sofa/living room area. Enjoyed our stay very much!

Close to beach, clean.
Charge for parking.

The hotel was decent and clean. Just across the street from the beach. I thought it was ridiculous that they charged me an additional $22/day just to park in the hotel garage.

Of the two women who checked us in, one was particularly nice and helpful. The cookies are always a plus!
The public spaces were very cold and uncomfortable. The parking fee of $22 is ridiculous.

The room and beds were very comfortable, which provided a good night's sleep. The lobby and public spaces are very cold in appearance and temperature, which makes them uninviting. Also, I was a little annoyed at the $22/night parking fee. It seemed a bit high. This is all somewhat compensated for by the friendly staff, the evening entertainment, and the famous warm cookies upon check-in.

Room was too loud.

There was a loud noise, it sounded like you were in an airplane. The noise was there all day, it went off around 1 in the morning and came back at around 6 am. Would not want to stay there again.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable.
The hotel was hard to drive into. We drove around twice trying to figure out how to get in.

We were very pleased with the hotel and staff. The room had just been renovated. The bed was very comfortable.
