Located beneath the towering Monterey Pines two blocks North of Ocean Avenue on San Carlos Street at Fifth Avenue- The Carmel Lodge is but a short walk to all that Carmel-by-the-Sea offers. Shops- art galleries- taverns- restaurants- festivals and favorite haunts are all within easy reach. Bask by our pool or stroll the tree lined streets- your stay here will be relaxing- memorable and affordable. Excellent, comfortable rooms, excellent location.
Grounds a bit lacking, but it is technically a motel.

The Carmel Lodge is essentially a motel, but the refurbished rooms are comparable to any four-star Westin/Sheraton/Marriott. Very tasteful decor in an old-school motor lodge setting at a reasonable Priceline price. Better yet, it is located right in gorgeous Carmel-by-the-Sea, within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and the beach. Amenities are basically a tiny pool adjacent to the parking lot, but with a location like this, you don't need but a comfy room. Definitely upgrade to the suite if you can. It was one of the best values of any hotel I've ever stayed in - and I can't wait to go back. read more
