"Huge suites" on "peaceful, tranquil grounds" "await the weary traveler" at this "gem in the Carmel Valley" that's "perfect for a romantic getaway" what with the "comfortable rooms" "right on the golf course" trumpeting "wonderful, wood-burning fireplaces"; there are "fabulous views of the mountains" and "wild deer and turkeys wander the grounds", but some sigh that it's "not as luxurious as expected" since the decor "still looks like it's out of the '80s."

Friendly staff. Coping well given the facilities are being refurbished.
The rooms were dark due to the fact they were facing mainly north.

As a golf resort excellent, coping well at present with the refurbishment, but no main dining room at present therefore needs to drive to local town for a substantial meal.

Huge, wonderful suites and beautiful location.
Rooms need updating, in-room movie system is outdated and inefficient.

I have stayed here many times and it is one of my favorite resorts. However, it is definitely in need of a renovation. Check in was not smooth - I was sent to a room that was already occupied. When I got to my second room, the in-room movie feature would not work. The water pressure was terrible - at times, no more than a trickle in the shower. This hotel group needs to bring this hotel up to its full potential! read more
