Description of Hofsas House Hotel
The Hofsas House is a boutique family-owned inn with 38 uniquely decorated, spacious rooms, many with ocean views overlooking the pines in the village of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Dutch doors appoint each room, allowing our guests to enjoy the fresh ocean air. Our guests watch glorious sunsets over the Pacific Ocean from the privacy of the inn's decks or rooms. Some rooms and most suites have fireplaces, private balconies, wet bars or kitchens. The Hofsas House is located three blocks north of Ocean Avenue, eight blocks from the picturesque white sand Carmel Beach and one block from a child-friendly City Park. There is plenty of off-street parking and guests delight in walking everywhere in Carmel from the inn. Enjoy a continental breakfast in the morning with French Roast coffee, tea, fresh pastries delivered from a local bakery, juice and fruit. I liked the convenience and the friendliness of staff.
It was a little noisy but my room was on the street side.

Hofsas is a great establishment for a great price. They offer parking which is fantastic and the staff were really friendly and efficient.
I enjoyed my stay and will most likely stay again next time I go down.

The hotel suited our needs for the price.
The bedding seemed to have a funny odor.

For the price, the location was excellent. We did not have to drive our car once during our stay. The decor was very attractive, both inside and out.

Very cozy, and romantic, with view of ocean, close to shops .
Beds was a little lumpy and pillows a little hard.

First impression was an nice old romantic cozy inn feel. Greeted at desk, very friendly staff, made us feel very welcomed. Very nice view of ocean, even thou first day was overcast, but next morning was awesome. Nice size room, bed was a little uncomfortable, lumpy with hard pillows. Nice cont. breakfast. Shops and beach within walking distance, be prepared for an uphill walk back. read more

VERY noisy

This is a hotel with an excellent location in Carmel, right near downtown. It was moderately priced, but the walls were paper thin and I got little sleep for the 3 nights we were there. This hotel is pet friendly, though, and we had our 2 dogs with us. I think they liked it!

The staff at the Hofsas House were extremely friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to accomodate our family. Our room was great.

We will definitely stay at the Hofsas House on our next trip to Carmel.

Priced well for the location.
The owner is unreasonable and a liar.

The hotel is in a good location in Carmel by the Sea, CA. Unfortunately; the maid broke the hinges on my laptop which could have only been done by dropping it. The owner wanted nothing to do with the situation. In fact, he became defensive and accused me of smoking in the room which was untrue

I can't think of anything.

Excellent accommodations and great location! Super friendly staff and delicious continental breakfast. Fireplace in the 2 bedroom suite. Very spacious with 1 king and 2 queens; as well as 2 bathrooms. Loved this hotel!
