Staff and maids very friendly/helpful.
Too close to the freeway, Noisy.

I pretty much got what I paid for. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and neat. It was right next to freeway I-8, did not say that in description, and was noisy cause of that. All in all got what I paid for. Only used to sleep. Was out and about all day.

Friendly staff and clean pool.
Roach problem and broken TV.

We were greeted and checked in quickly by a friendly staff which was nice because we checked in quite late. However when we entered the actual room, we found a large roach on the wall and 2 more smaller ones on the table. Had to kill the bugs and keep our luggage in the car to make sure we didn't take them home! The TV had a broken volume button and no remote and it turned itself off twice while watching it. In the morning, we took a swim in the pool and enjoyed the jacuzzi, which both were very clean and semi-private. Overall the price didn't make up for the bad night sleep due to the roach problem. I will spend an extra 50 bucks for the Hilton! read more

Convenient access to the interstate.
Lots of noisy young adult guests on the weekends.

I would rate the hotel as adequate. The room was clean and well-maintained. The exercise room was equipped with a low-end universal weight system, stationary bike, and stair stepper. The pool was clean. Again, not a luxury stay, but completely adequate for the price.

Friendly staff.
Musty smell.

A little noisy due to proximity to the freeway. Staff very friendly and courteous. The room had a musty smell and we had to buy air freshner and burn a candle. Location was perfect and we would stay there again.

Cheap and clean rooms with a private patio. Comes with basic continental breakfast.
Outdated look, hard beds, right next to noisy highway.

Hotels in San Diego are expensive so this is on the cheaper end. Hotel does have large king size beds but they are a little hard. Room has microwave and fridge and private patio but it faces the on ramp to a noisy highway. Hotel is far away about 16 miles from Old Town. Apparently some health warning sign in the room which pertains to pregnant women mainly is required by state law. I am not sure what in the area warrants the health warning? read more
