We found the hotel personnel to be great, helpful and friendly.
No negative comments.
The Holiday Inn at the Wharf is a great hotel for enjoying the wharf and feeling like you are a part of the experience. Staff are very friendly and help;ful. Our stay was very enjoyable. i would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Walking distance from Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, and restaurants. Great heater for the freezing city weather.
We stayed on the first floor and our "sliding door" to the outside was an emergency exit only so we were not allowed to open it.

Location was good.
Outrageous parking price.
The hotel gouges you on parking and the restaurant is way overpriced. Nothing at this hotel is complimentary.

The location.
Freezing cold in lobbies, hallways, and no coffee available in lobby until precisely 6 AM.
We found the staff very unfriendly, not mean, just uninterested in guests. Hallways, lobbies so cold you needed a parka with a hood to get through them. Coffee was made and ready at counter to restaurant but staff wouldn't serve any before precisely 6 AM. Parking costs of $35 not noted on reservation.

Location.
Someone knocked on my door at 1 am and went away, then came back and entered my room at 3 am
I was absolutely scared to death with my stay. Someone tried to enter my room in the middle of the night - I complained to Holiday Inn management and was given a very standard response of
I'm sorry.

The hotel had a 24 hour Denny's located on premises and convenient street parking.
Kept having problems with door keys not working.
The hotel would have received a better review if I did not get locked out my room for one hour. The registration desk was located in a separate building around the corner and had to take this hike twice because the keys they assigned me did not work. After two trys, they than sent security to unlock the door and he was unsuccessful in his attempt to unlock the door. He than went back to registration and had to get new keys made. After approximately one hour, I finally got into my room. read more

Location in Fisherman's Wharf was very good.
Concierge in the main building was very rude to us.
If you chopped the price like William Shatner tells you to do you probably will be assigned a room in the cheaper 1-star at most Beach building. In addition we were given the a first floor room with no view next to the lobby probably the worse room in the house. We also were subjected to a surprise $39.09 per day charge for parking the car. The concierge in the main building was rude to us. He ignored us and instead attended to two women who were staying in the main building. The main building has a nice restaurant our building had a Denny's. They also ration the soap and the shower head was broken. The hotel was very clean. read more

Contemporary decor.
When you can't have a single king bed guarantee, it makes it for a less romantic experience. Also, the satisfaction of getting a good deal goes out the window when you have to pay extra for parking $35 a night!
