Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Wilmington-Newark

There are holiday inns that are truly 3 star or higher, this is closer to a 1 star economy motel.

I paid for a 3star hotel. This hotel was a 1 11/2 star. The hotel is being torn down at the end of this month. They have rodent problems. Room was not satisfactory- roach, dirty towel in bathroom, stuck to bathroom floor, not sure that sheets were clean. Moved to another hotel. I travel every weekend and this hotel was not acceptable for the rating, price, and cleanliness. This establishment did not appear to be a 3-star hotel. It was not characteristic of the Holiday Inns in Ohio, but seemed more like a 2-star motel. I was prepared to forfeit my money and go to another hotel, but the Embassy Suites was booked. For a quick, one-night stay or for a truck driver...it was bearable, as long as you could keep one eye open.

You have it as a 3 star hotel, it is a 1 star and to my point Holiday is tearing it down in October.

It's OK, it was clean, but old.

The hotel was clean, the staff worked quickly to ensure a speedy turned around for cleaning the rooms. It was located close to the malls, race track and casino. The staff in the lobby were very helpful and friendly. We decided against eating for no particular reason and the music coming from the lounge was a big turn on although we didn't go inside to see what the fun may have been all about. The location was 5 miles from all the other hotels where we would like to have been, this happened before in South Carolina, And it was not worth the money for this room. It was not a 3 star hotel. 2 at the most and $80/night was too high.

The hotel lobby had an updated decor which set an high expectation level which the rooms could not meet. Not sure if it was the staff or other guests, but the hotel was noisy very early each morning.
