Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort Panama City Beach

Awesome hotel! We used it as a place to crash overnight after Thanksgiving dinner in town. Now, however, we'll be back simply because this is a really great place to spend a few days. Each room has a semi-private balcony that overlooks the pool, sun deck, tiki bar, and beach below. We walked up and down the beach for about 20 minutes in each direction and every other hotel we could see had no landscaping. They were just buildings stuck on the sand. This hotel has tiki torches, palm trees, banana trees, and I don't know what all else in its yard. The desk clerk gave us each a coupon for a free cocktail in the bar, which we were more than happy to use! The bartender was very generous when she poured my glass of wine! My fiance got a second beer after his complimentary one. The second beer was $4. The room was clean, the sheets were soft, the TV was great, the headboard was padded. Some reviewers have complained about the floor tiles in the rooms. I have no idea why this was a problem for them. The tiles were clean and in good shape, and there is carpet around the beds, so it's not as though you step out of bed onto a cold, hard floor. Besides, I'd prefer clean tile over stained, nasty, sandy, old carpet any day. Other reviews have complained about parking across the street. Again, what's the problem, maybe this is a new feature, but there's a lighted tunnel under the street, so getting back and forth to your car is no different from walking through a parking lot. I can't comment on the dining room as we didn't eat there. There is a very nice gym with lots of cardio equipment and some basic weight machines. There is also a wet sauna and a dry sauna. There were some renovations going on while we were there, so I expect the hotel to be even nicer the next time I visit, which will most likely be next summer. All in all, this is a fantastic hotel that I will definitely re-visit and will definitely recommend. read more

Very nice hotel with romantic rooms, all of which had a great view.

The location and beach are family friendly. The hotel was not business friendly.

We went for a romantic weekend. Really enjoyed the location of the hotel. The rooms were older - looked to have been decorated in the 80's (wicker). Although it was clean and the staff was very friendly. They were undergoing construction so that was a necessary inconvenience. The hot-tubs didn't work properly. We loved the view from the balcony and the landscaping. The complimentary cocktail was also a nice surprise. Also had a game room with pool tables and ping pong. The hotel was wonderful! I enjoyed my stay and I will return again. The hotel provided adequate transportation back and forth from your car to your room! When I returned to PCB, Fl., I will stay at this hotel! I will call Priceline. Thanks for the accommodations!!

Great off season deal right on the beach. It's an older hotel I'd say built in the late 1980's but well maintained and the layout is awesome with every room with a beach front balcony. The water park is great for the kids, although a few things were broken and didn't work. Excellent white sandy beach, excellent pool area with plenty of free chairs. We'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately the cold weather and wind prevented us from using the beach facilities, but we would use this hotel if we ever return to Panama City Beach! Great place for young families to stay!

Overall good. Shows it's age. Tile floors in rooms weren't very comfortable. No free breakfast and menu items were extremely expensive.

I can't think of a single bad word to say about Holiday Inn Sun Spree. The room was clean and beautiful, the beds were incredibly comfortable, the pool and the beach were fabulous, and the hotel staff were helpful and friendly when I asked advice about area attractions. I couldn't have been more pleased with the two days I spent there.
