Location and staff.
Pool is outdoor-not in use in October, no free continental breakfast.
Room was good sized, etc. However, the bathroom fan did not work so the ceiling got nasty after morning showers. The heat was having major malfunctions; thermostat was cranked as high as it would go, and it was cold in the room, almost like it was blowing cold air instead!

Room was great! Perfect for what I was looking for. Nice and clean.
Main lobby and public spaces under construction.
The overall hotel is older but the room we stayed in seemed new and upgraded very nice. Because the main spaces were under construction, we didn't really use the amenities in the hotel but the location was great and close to downtown Boise. I would stay here again!

Even though the hotel was older, the rooms were clean and well maintained.
There was no WiFi avaliable for my room. The furniture is older.
This proves that just because a hotel is older it does not have to be run down and dirty. They obviously take pride in providing a clean room and friendly service.

Close to downtown and the college.
Poor furnishings in the room, holes in the fabric chairs.
The remodeling that was going on was not the problem, but having old furnishings with holes in the fabric at a three star hotel is unusual. We also had the joy of a high school soccer team in the same hallway with no supervision. The staff responded to our request for power cord and cord to connect to the internet, but it was like they put together a room for the priceline customer who got a good deal. Not such a good deal when the room is less than nice! read more

Clean towels. Bed was made.
Old, smells musty, rude staff, bugs in bed (unclean sheets).
Would not recommend. Staff were very young, unprofessional beyond belief. Got bug bites from unclean, unchanged sheets. Sewer smell in hallway. Old, musty hotel. Very dark, depressing. Needs major remodel job! Definitely not up to Doubletree standards. Very disappointed.

Once inside the room, the bed was so comfortable and the coffee in the rooms was awesome!
The hotel needs some external updating and in the halls.
Our stay was wonderful. It was a comfortable king sized bed and a lovely room which was just what we needed for a night of child-free rest. Usually we are traveling with 2 small children and the size of the room would have been plenty big if we had them with us. Oh! And the cookies!! Warm cookies when you check in!!

Close to Downtown.
Smelled bad. Charged for crib.
Smelled terrible in the halls. Clean rooms. The bed was so soft my back hurt. They charged $10 a night for a cheap crib pack and play.

Interior was well maintained.
Exterior not as well, hidden charges on trivial items.
They charge $1.25 for a local call/where that is free elsewhere. $3 for a bottle of water, etc. In your room there is no microwave, primitive internet, etc. Maids are in a hurry to get you out of there to clean rooms, etc. Front desk was cordial. Jacuzzi and exercise room were a little run down. Very quiet(usually),but not a 3 star.
