Extended Stay America Bloomington - Normal

It well suited our needs for the time we were in Bloomington. Our purpose was to meet and spend time with distant family at a central location. With the kitchenette, we were able to enjoy a simple meal together in the privacy of our own lodging.

The extended stay is overall a pretty decent place. We've stayed there before. However, this time did not live up to the other times. We were given a smoking room, even though we requested non-smoking and the mattress was the hardest thing I've ever slept on. But, the staff was very friendly and it was clean, if a little run-down. It had nice amenities, especially for folks who are staying more than one night: full sized refrigerator, double burner electric stove, microwave oven, two plates, cups, spoons, forks, knives, etc. It has no typical attractions like a workout room, free breakfast, etc. It really had no lobby, just a small room next to the elevator where the front desk was, and the girl at the desk was doing laundery in the room behind her. Hotel room itself was okay; carpets in hallways were disgustingly filthy. Wished we could have selected another hotel.

This is a very clean, friendly facility that caters primarily to men who are in the trades. I'd suspect that a family may feel a bit intimidated; but it's a great value, very clean, very friendly and very safe in terms of location, amenities and layout. Very good job to the management.

I would never stay in this specific hotel again and would not choose this chain of hotels ever based on my experience.
