Very attractive.
Bell men was jerks not friendly and kind of rude.

The Hotel Blake, is a very attractive smaller hotel. The furniture and room could use some paint, as the furniture had many chips. The carpet on the stairs outside our room was repaired with duct tape. The Bell hops were extremely rude, not very friendly and generally not helpful, when I complained at the front desk,
I was told they are usually friendly.

Quiet boutique property with nice amenities, off the beaten path.
No swimming pool and
expensive parking.

This has been four different brands in the past 20 years and I've stayed at each version. The rooms seem spruced up a bit, but nothing ostentatious. Nice touches include Ipod ready radio and actual eye friendly incandescent lamps. Close to Harold Washington library and South Loop businesses.

Very clean and modern room.

I needed a comfortable stay for one night and did not want to pay much money but still have a decent comfort. I got more than I expected. I liked the clean room and modern facilities. I can recommend this hotel.

Older style hotel with modern amenities.
Television was old and poor quality.

We primarily picked this hotel due to price and proximity to Solider Field as we were attending a Bears game. While it is somewhat off the beaten path, it is still close to everything. Very clean, old hotel with modern amenities. Excellent stay.

We were surprised to find that the hotel now offers free breakfast!
Wireless internet was very slow.

Hotel Blake is conveniently located in downtown Chicago about a half mile from Millennium Park. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean. During our stay we enjoyed the free morning continental breakfast downstairs in the lobby. We were told this is a recent addition.

Good taste in decor and architecture, historical building.
First 2 rooms were not acceptable, weird smell, lack of working desk.

The interior design was impressive. Location close to public transportation. Staff was friendly and professional. Maintenance not keeping up with the goodness of the hotel. Need improvement on keeping amenities in working order and maybe deep cleaning of the air ducts, to remove unpleasant odor in some rooms.
