Ramada Downtown North

As of 10/11/09, the hotel is seeing some construction and cosmetic changes, but those don't get in the way of a great room. I would have liked to see the outdoor pool open, but apparently it was too cold for the locals to think that people would want a swim.

It sucked.

This is a great property,
and I will use it again next time in Louisville. Restaurant was good, clean,
and wait staff friendly, I ate there only once. Continental breakfast was very good,
and of above average variety. Fresh fruit, juices, yogurt, bagels, cereal, toast,
muffins, waffles, coffee, tea, most upter Ramada's I have stayed at don't come close to offering that much. My room was in good order with a refrigerator, microwave, iron
and ironing board
and hairdryer
and worth the price. The towels
and washcloths were not as soft as I like them, but everything was clean. This property has underwent renovation
and appears reasonably well maintained. The house staff were very cordial, helpful,
and gave very good directions. While it is a bit out of the way,
I-71
and river road gets you downtown in no time. Once you figure out Spaghetti junction, eventually all roads lead to Bardstown Rd.
and that's where the fun begins. My purpose for this visit was to attend the American Legion national convention,
and as it turned out many Legionaires were also staying at this property. I will stay here again if I come out for Derby Day. read more

The hotel was priced OK.

There were only outside entrance room at this hotel, which I was not aware of when I booked the room. The lady behind the desk took about 20 minutes with phone calls and talking to other people before she even acknowledged that I was waiting to check in. The door and giant window in the room were very leaky, and it was very cold at night. Also, they apparently don't use any kind of fabric softener in their linens, I zapped myself on everything metal in the room for 2 straight days. I will not stay at this hotel again. read more

We were pleased with the hotel overall but, were disappointed that the free breakfast did not include a waffle machine. We stayed here last year and they did. We were so looking forward to that hot part of the breakfast. But things were good overall. Very nice pool even though we did not use it.
