The perfect view of downtown Silver Spring.
I wish it was a little more cozy and decorated than what it is now.

The Crown Hotel is perfect for someone who wants to be near restaurants and stores to shop. It's a decent hotel for a quick getaway!

Location was wonderful, staff was also friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel staff was very accommodating. They were able to hold our room when our first flight was canceled and were even willing to let us stay an extra night. Very nice room.

Location to downtown Silver Spring.
Fire and smoke alarms went off twice during stay, once leading to building evacuation during blizzard.

Overall, not a 4 star experience, a solid 3 though.

Beautiful lobby and restaurant.
Infected with bugs that left me with bites all over my body.

Very beautiful to the eye. Cleanliness is an issue. Bugs in the bathroom and ceiling. I now have bites all over my body.

The hotel room was handsomely appointed.
The corridors leading to rooms had a mish-mash of styles, and pretty ugly wallpaper.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Silver Springs is a slightly older hotel, but excellently located on Georgia Avenue, close to the new "Downtown Silver Spring" shops and stores, and a 2- to 3-block walk from the red line Metro station. The rooms were spotless, with stylish but not over-the-top furnishings. The hotel management has implemented an environmental friendliness program giving guests the option to have sheets and towels changed or reused - nice touch, if you care. It was cheap on Priceline and conveniently located to where I had to go for work.
Our room smelled like smoke even though it was non smoking and the TVs were really old.

The hotel has a very 1970s feel even though it's been recently renovated, it looks like they ran out of money. 70s wall paper still on the walls, outdated carpet, lobby but the rooms were decent and clean. The TVs were really old. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and they have a shuttle for transport with in a few miles.
