Great staff, great service and fantastic location.
We were in a non-air conditioned room when it was 85 degrees. We knew that when we booked the room.
Excellent hotel. This is not the first time we stayed there. The staff is friendly and the hotel is the perfect example of a Nantucket inn. The location is perfect and not more than a few blocks from anywhere of interest. There is a nice continental type breakfast included. The staff is attentive and wonderful.

it was in a fantastic location in the center of town and close to the ferry
the continental breakfast was a bit scarce
The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating. The location was great, in the center of town and very close to the ferry. The room was very cute and the bathroom was clean and large, much better than I expected for an historical building. This was the perfect place for a first time visitor to Nantucket.

Free continental breakfast.
Elevator does not work, no cots are available, easy to hear through walls, room floor not level.
When I first arrived, there was a doorman that opens the door. Nice touch, but he only goes there during check in/out time. The stairs, halls, and rooms were quaint and showed the style of its day. There is an elevator, but pushing the button does not work (which is probably why the bell hop carried our luggage up the 3 flights of stairs).
Upon entering the room, there's a pre-printed note on the bed welcoming you to the hotel. They personalized it by putting my name on it, but for some reason they wanted to use my middle name and last name.
The room had a low spot on the floor, and putting anything on the desk would make it slide off the desk. The bathroom door would not close all the way. The room has heaters, but no thermostat (I suppose all rooms are kept at the same temperature). The room had a remote-controlled fan, but the remote didn't work.
The bed was quite comfortable, but I could hear the people in the hallway. I heard them loud enough that I started whispering in the room because I figure it works both ways and others might be able to hear me.
The room's iron and iron board was great. The iron was better than the one I have at home, so I went ahead and ironed all of my clothes.
The door does not have a deadbolt. It just has one of those chain-locks. The lock isn't electronic, so you have to carry a key with you when you go out (instead of putting a key card in your wallet, like my cousin's hotel had).
The continental breakfast was nice. I loved the coffee, but the food was not so varied and didn't taste that fresh. Thus, I avoided their muffins and went for the packaged stuff (yogurt, cereal, etc). read more
