The room and bathroom was very nice.
I did not like having to park in a separate parking lot and paying $14.00 + tax.
The hotel was very nice, friendly staff. The location was very good as far as where we were visiting. We just didn't like having to park on the top level of a separate parking lot and then get charged for it. I have never paid for parking plus tax at any hotel, and we've stayed at a downtown Hilton. Having to go out to our car for any reason, especially bringing in our luggage was very inconvenient. read more

Location was great for River Centre convention hall.
The room doors were not sound proofed. Saturday night was like a huge party in the hall from 4pm to almost 3am.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Outside was clean and nice. Room decor was dated, but well kept and very clean. It is among the noisiest hotels I have ever stayed in. Door were not sound-proofed, you could see feet walking by outside. Saturday, it turned into a party hotel and was like a frat house from 4pm to almost 3am, and then started up again at 8am when the kids woke up and were running through the halls. It was impossible to sleep. read more

Clean, conveniently located across from Xcel center.
Couple of staff people had attitudes.
Good, clean hotel. Only problem was I had to convince them of my health concerns before they would give me a non-smoking room. Loved most of the staff. They were ready to serve and help, however a friend had a run-in with them, and he was strong-armed out of the hotel that particular hotel person had no conflict resolution skills.

Location.
Needs a good cleaning.
This is a big hotel in a convenient location, downtown St. Paul. It was probably 3-3.5 upscale star level at one time, but it needs some good cleaning/reupholstering throughout, including the restaurant, to reach that level again. The coffee was not good - didn't really taste like coffee .

great location and helpful staff
no airport shuttle
This is a terrific hotel. Good food, clean rooms with incredibly comfortable beds and it was walking distance to the exxcel center and Roy Wilkins Auditorium. Plus, they had a shuttle that took us around when we didn't want to walk.

Customer service was poor, and parking was not free.
Staff was not friendly over the phone. They were accommodating when the AC didn't work in my room. But at no time was I ever told that parking was not free. The hotel staff was very rude about it, trying to tell me that any big city you must pay for parking. I know that is untrue because I have stayed in big cities many times and have never paid to park.
