The shower needs to be upgraded with new tiles (some where old and cracking).

For a very good price in Las Vegas, you cannot beat the Golden Gate hotel located in the heart of down town Las Vegas on Freemont street.

Second floor room facing Fremont St. and Location of Hotel.
Very few amenities in room.

The hotel is old and a bit dated. The room was small but cute and furnished well with up to date modern styling. The best pillows I have ever had in any Hotel. The price was also half that of any other hotel option. Our room was on the second floor facing Fremont Street. This added to the excellent experience of our trip, watching the activity outside our window. View is slightly obstructed by the Golden Gate sign on the building but it was not a concern. Third floor room with vies are unobstructed. The Fremont Street Experience runs until midnight so I would not recommend to someone that wants a quiet room however I found the noise level was not that bad with the windows and blinds closed. I have been to Vegas about five times and have stayed at the Tropican and Harrah's as well as Motels. This room and trip was the best Hotel is small and so close to the street takes only a couple of minutes to run up to the room if you need something unlike the hotels with the huge towers. The night life and activity on Fremont Street was also much more enjoyable the the strip. If and when I return to Vegas this is the only place I will stay. read more

Good value for the price.
Not well staffed.

Good accommodations for a GREAT price. Also loved the location. Not well staffed though. I had to go to front desk to get iron because there was only one person working. And they were out of ironing boards. These should be standard items in a room. They also charged my credit card $56 after I left so I had to call and get it reversed.

Great location to old Las Vegas.
Not enough power outlets in the rooms.

Desk staff was very friendly and helpful with direction to near by places. The rooms were clean and quiet. However, morning showers 8-10am were often luke-warm or cold.

Location
at the
beginning of Fremont Street experience.
Food preparation substandard.

Oldest hotel in Las Vegas. In some regards shows its age. Rooms comfortable and clean. Staff proficient and friendly. Food below average (coleslaw old or veggies limp). Location to Fremont Street Experience excellent. Valet parking convenient & hotel validates parking.

reasonable price
We did not like unclean bathroom, noisy at night time, unconvenience self parking, unfriendly front desk clerk

Over all, with this hotel has reasonable price and be built for along time ago so it is easy to understand the value between accomodation - price and serviceis always the proportion, nice housekeeping attendance. They should improve plumbing and sewage system, sign board guiding customers to self parking lot, friendly front desk clerks and bartender. But we will be always priceline customers, and you have very good customer servive staff. Thank you. Duyen and Quy Tran read more

The room was HOT took for ever to cool off.

I will not stay at this hotel again. The first room I was in was too hot and the second room the shower water ran hot and cold I am glad I did not have to pay full price.
