Fireplaces in lobby, friendly staff and great bar.
No fridge in room, could hear people in room next to us and some public area rugs were very threadbare.

Location and ambiance.
Old hotel with small rooms.

I use to live in the area and frequented the hotel for meals and bar. This was the first time I stayed overnight and it provided a good location for the activities we wanted to do. The restaurant was OK, but the quality of the food could of been much better for the price. The service was excellent.

It was in a lovely location looking out across the White Mts. For golfers.
Sink in our upgraded room would not drain. Let staff know.

Beautiful location, quiet, all amenities on-site. Friendly front desk staff full of recommendations. Had a great reasonable priced beer in the tavern. Loved the rocking chairs on the veranda. Pool looked good, golf on-site. Perfect for weddings. This is an old property, one of the grand inns from the old days that's why we stayed there. You had to walk a long way to guest rooms on the first floor. Not right in town, down the road 2 miles. read more

Location was good, near x-country ski area, and great views.
Nothing.

Quaint hotel but well kept up, personnel very pleasant. Elevator was hard to use, needed to be strong to hold open the doors.

Grand historic hotel. Loved the veranda and rockers. Beautiful view. Good service.
Our room was quite small, on the third floor, with a slanted ceiling such that you had to duck your head to get
to the bed
from bathroom.
