Courtyard By Marriott West Orange

Check-in was OK, took a bit longer than expected. First room smelled heavily of smoke, even though it is now a Marriott smoke-free property. The manager promptly changed rooms and the 2nd was great. Proximity to the manor banquet hall was perfect. Will be back if the value stays the same.

Conveniently located for our needs, the staff at the desk were helpful and pleasant. The rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. While the food at the breakfast buffet was fine, the staff were disorganized and not very helpful. We had to clean off our own table and ask for silverware, coffee mugs etc.

Your average Marriott hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel! Many reviews said that this hotel smells funny. I was nervous about that, but said nothing to my husband so that he wouldn't be biased. When we walked in, to my amusement, he said "It smells good in here!" I laughed and told him what the reviews said about a bad smell. We figured it must have smelled good because they fixed whatever the problem was. We stayed in a room with two queen beds which were comfy. The fridge was smaller than I would like. We could squeeze 1 magnum of wine, 1 bottle of sprite, and 1 bottle of whiskey in there- it is tall enough, but very shallow. For the ladies: a previous reviewer wrote that only the bathroom has a mirror, so getting ready for weddings, etc. can be difficult. This is absolutely correct! Try to bring a hand mirror or something if you can. I loved the shower! It had a lot of space and a huge ledge to put toiletries on. Most importantly, the room was CLEAN! read more
