Description of Howard Johnson Harrison
The area, now called Harrison, was settled during the 1800s, primarily by Revolutionary War veterans. Officially incorporated as a village in 1850, the village was named after President William Henry Harrison. It became a city in 1981 when the population crossed 5,500. Harrison was the home of the fifth governor of Ohio, Othneil Looker. Several attractions are near Harrison such as the Cox Arboretum & Gardens Metropark and the Newport Aquarium. There are also numerous historical sites nearby like Harriet Beecher Stowe House, Whitewater Canal State Historic Site and the William Howard Taft National Historic Site. Some of the parks in the vicinity are Devou Park, Harrison State Park, and Miami Whitewater Forest. Behringer-Crawford Museum, Butler County Historical Society Museum, and Cincinnati Art Museum are also located near Harrison. Staff was very accomodating & friendly.
No elevator & we were on 2nd floor with luggage.

Hotel wasn't clearly marked as a Howard Johnson's, as it was really a Quality Inn. Not knowing the area, we searched for the listed address looking for the HoJo sign for about 20 minutes. We finally asked at a gas station where it was, and they gave us directions.

Good location and helpful friendly staff.
It is old and worn and so is the bedding, carpet, etc.

This hotel's greatest asset is the friendly staff and housekeepers, but it is worn from many years of use and desperately needs to be renovated. My outside door key, and that of many other guests, did not work. The pool was well-kept and in good condition, but renovated soon.

Lots of small bug wings all over the AC.

Great stay overall! Only bad experience was with the accumulation of small bug wings all over the AC. Since Cincinnati has had so much trouble with bedbugs, making the room completely bug free is a needed plus.

Shower did not work. Shabby place. Avoid.

My wife's wallet was stolen. We believe it happened here. No working shower. Torn up furniture. A seedy place.

Loved the friendliness of staff and kids loved the pool.

Rooms were very clean, missed the breakfast, slept in late and staff was very friendly
