The Howard Johnson is just 2 miles from downtown Newport and the Mansions, 1 mile from the Newport Naval base and Corporate Parks. Facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna, free fitness room from 6am-10pm, dry cleaning, laundry, and a video game area. Rooms with 2 beds are large, and all upper floor rooms have a private balcony. All guest rooms have been newly renovated. Free High Speed Internet. Airport Shuttle for a 25.00 USD fee. Deluxe Home Office rooms feature a microwave, refrigerator, welcome snack and other special amenities. Pets allowed in DD1 and NDD1 Only. Pets 10/pet/night. A nice shopping area including the Christmas Tree Shop is adjacent to the Inn and you will find over 80 other restaurants either within walking distance or in nearby downtown Newport. The way the bathroom was set up was not very accommodating, the pool closes too early and there is no free breakfast.
