Good location, marginal service, economy level.

This hotel was nice. The employees were very friendly and helpful. I called ahead and was allowed to check in an hour or so early. I also called to get directions to the downtown area and the young lady who answered was very helpful. I am recommending this hotel chain to a friend of mine who is looking for somewhere to stay for extended period of time.

The hotel disappointed me. As a frequent business traveler and occasional traveler for pleasure, I have stayed in dozens of different hotels and my experience has shown that even among budget hotels most of them offer certain basic amenities: daily housekeeping, pool, network and cable television, refills when a toiletry item runs out, complementary breakfast, etc. In this hotel, the housekeeping is not included in the base cost, a person must pay $7/night for full service or $3/night for economy service. There was no pool, a fact which disappointed my son the most. There was no network television - evidently the hotel was unprepared for the changeover to digital. We ran out of tissue paper on the second day, and when I went to the front desk to get some the staff was friendly (one of the few pluses), but the staff couldn't find any tissue paper on-site. There was no continental breakfast, let alone full breakfast. All in all, the hotel lacked even the most basic of amenities. It deserves to be ranked as about a 1/2 star rather than a budget-to-mid grade type hotel. read more

The Homestead Memphis - Poplar Ave in Memphis, TN was an excellent choice for my partner and I. We had a leisure trip to Memphis although they had areas where business work could be done inside the room. We paid a small fee for internet in our room and enjoyed it. It had an area for eating meals or sitting and enjoying coffee. I have never stayed at a hotel like this one and it was a great experience for my partner and me. Also the physical location was not directly downtown although it was a great neighborhood and pretty close to the areas of Memphis we wanted to be at. read more

Great place to stay at for extended business stays.

The hotel was nice. It was located in a nice area and it was quiet. We checked in late at night and then left at checkout. We were even a little late checking out, but the hotel staff were accommodating. I would stay at this hotel again.

The manager was very attentive to our needs and made sure everything we needed was in our room or he had it for us. Great place to stay.
