Great location and price, perfectly adequate for me.
Called for shuttle pick up, female counter clerk forgot to tell driver, waited extra 40 mins.
Location on the edge of the historic district is perfect for great meals and atmosphere in this area. Ten min walk or one stop on the free Light Rail Train takes you to Union Square connected to tunnel to Hyatt and Convention Center. The pool is under repair but they do give you passes to the Texas Club across the street which is great. Overall a good experience except for the shuttle wait cause the clerk forgot to tell the driver. Also the shower did not work, the plumbing needs to be fixed, but the water was hot. read more

Breakfast was convenient; and staff was helpful.
No vending or ice machines, and parking fee.
The hotel was what I expected for the price and location. The room was comfortable and clean but some of the public areas were a bit dirty-like the carpet in the breakfast area. It was under construction, but that was not a huge problem. I was surprised there were no vending machines or ice machines.

Fabulous staff, close to train station
Under construction
Great staff, convenient shuttle service, close to train station. The room was nice, comfortable bed & good pillows, nice complimentary breakfast. On the negative side, was under construction, the only ice machine was on the 9th floor, & they charge $10 a day to park in their garage.

Personnel were customer oriented. Shuttle service was outstanding.
The hallways were very comfortable. The room was hot and would not cool down.
We will probably stay here again next year. The hotel is still under construction. This did not seem to adversely affect anything except they did not have ice machines on the floors yet. We had to use the ice machine in the lobby area.

The room was larger and more comfortable than I expected.
Their shuttle doesn't service the airport, so you're on your own getting to the hotel.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Convention Center and there are several places to eat nearby. The front desk staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was well stocked and repeatedly replenished. Many of the hotels I've stayed at have staff who don't like there jobs. At the West End, they enjoy their work. They care whether you are having a good stay and they care whether you stay with them in the future. This is probably the best hotel I've ever visited. read more

Coffee and cleanliness.
Under construction, no valet and scary.
Floor lamp did not work, blow dryer did not work, internet service did not work and I am unsure if TV worked, maybe it has to be paid for to work. I found a stranger to help me with my luggage part way coming in but I had to handle it alone leaving. I do not think they had a pool or any kind of common facilities other than the coffee area and the hotel lobby which consisted of a small room with a counter. But I must say the lady at the desk was very nice so I was not disappointed with the other stuff. I think this proves that courtesy goes a very long way. read more
