Inexpensive
Highway and train noise.

Motel is easy to get to. Not the Hilton, but OK if all you want is a bed and a shower. Be sure to run the wall AC/heat unit all night to cover the road and train noise that woke me many times.

It was affordable.
The bed was very uncomfortable.

It was very reasonably priced. It was very close to I-81, but road noise did not seem to be a problem. As we approached, we saw that the nice retro Blue Jay sign was not lit, but a small Budget Host sign was. The office was not well-lit. When we arrived, I wondered if they were open, until we saw that there were lights on outside the rooms. The bed was very uncomfortable. To get hot water, you had to run the water for 7-10 minutes, which is very wasteful. That bothered me because I don't like wasting water. It is a cheap motel that does not seem to want to be more than that. I have stayed in similarly-priced older motels that were well-maintained, and I kind of like retro-50's decor, but this place is not like that. It's just bare minimum. It is okay if you're very tired, but not particularly comfortable. New beds would really improve the stay. We were disappointed that the restaurant next to the motel is not open. read more
