The "overall cool factor" of this "upscale" hotel with a "bold" art deco design impresses some guests, while others like its location near the restaurants and lakefront of Downtown Milwaukee; although the "friendly" staff can be "unfocused" and "a little in love with itself", especially in the Zen Lounge, and the hip vibe doesn't quite compensate for lackadaisical housekeeping, many still declare this hotel "memorable."

Beautiful modern decor.
Slightly worn.

Was great for a weekend getaway. I loved the 12 foot ceilings (or were they 14 feet?), the lobby bar, the restaurant, and the modern, sleek feel of the hotel. I noticed that the room was slightly worn (a spot on the carpet here, a ding in the soap dish there), but nothing major, and it still felt very clean and stylish.

It has a nice bar in the lobby.

This hotel is located in the Theater District, near parks and restaurants. The rooms are very clean and well decorated.

The ambiance was really great.
The parking was super expensive.

The hotel was nice and within walking distance to many great locations. The parking at the hotel was really expensive ($23/night) and to park on the street you have to call the local police to get night parking permission -- either way, it's not easy.

Staff was amazing.
You had to turn sideways to fit between the bed and the TV.

The hotel was very pretty inside and when are room was not ready we where comped drinks at the bar while it was, took about 20 minutes. Very helpful staff.

Convenient downtown location and clean rooms.
Did not live up to the reputation of intercontinental hotels.

Our room was nice, a nice TV, chair and the bed was comfortable. The room decor was clean and seemed to be in good condition. The bathroom had a poorly functioning shower head. Overall, it was not up to the reputation I expected for an Intercontinental Hotel.

Lobby common areas were very trendy and impressibe.
Room was a little small.

Very good location, very nice staff... although there was some confusion as one staff member told me I had to pay for the parking separately while another said it was added onto my room (the latter was true). Also, the parking, while convenient, seems like a bit much for Milwaukee ($25/day, but with in/out privileges).
