Good enough but was
not great.
Would not let us check-in to our pre-paid rooms till 6 pm.
Shocked that we could not checkin to rooms we had reserved and paid for two months earlier. The hotel was fine, otherwise. A shuttle to Autzen stadium leaves from the facility.

Very friendly staff, nice and
large rooms.
Fitness room was mediocre.
Almost everything was great about this hotel from very friendly staff at the front desk and the restaurant, to the large and quiet rooms. The food at the restaurant was delicious also.

I was more than impressed with the hotel considering the price I paid.
It had a very small television.
Excellent.

They gave us a very nice room.
Nothing
If you can get a 3rd floor room, the beds are much more comfortable.

Room was very large.
Room needed to be updated.
While the Valley River Inn offers good value, it requires use of a car to get to Downtown and prime dining establishments. However, if you want to shop a good Mall, the location is prime. Sweet water's is an excellent restaurant, but with limited choices for adventuresome eaters.

Food was excellent
Poor parking. Confusing layout. No elevators. Disorganized service.
The restaurant is the best part of this hotel and the only reason I would stay there again. There were many inconvenient things like the fact that there wasn't enough parking, which meant I had to drag my luggage through 2 parking lots and up two flights of stairs (there may have been an elevator, but I couldn't find it, nor could the guy who was wandering around and asked me where the elevator was). When I took a shower, the water would suddenly become very hot (possibly when someone flushed a toilet?). There was also an incident where my room didn't get cleaned because apparently someone flipped over the door hanger I put on the door asking for maid service, so that it read 'do not disturb'. This wasn't their fault, but was bothersome nonetheless. And when I ordered room service, the waiter had to call me back twice because the front desk didn't have my credit card on file, though I had given it to them. He then had to come back up to my room for me to sign the slip. On the positive side, the room was very large and had a nice sized sofa and armchair. And, as I stated at the beginning, the food was excellent. read more
