The "fantastic" rooftop beach bar complete with fire pits gives it away: this "terminally hip" property near the Gaslamp Quarter caters to the "under-30" crowd; the "good-looking", "attentive" staff that sometimes "takes itself too seriously" matches the look and attitude of the "beautiful" clientele, and everyone seems to be having a "wild" time after dark, so who cares if the rooms are so "teensy" "only a lilliputian could love them."

It was a little contrived with its mod setting. It felt like it was trying to be a night club instead of a hotel.

Nicely decorated and good service from staff.
No coffee maker and bad sound insulation.

This hotel is definitely not for light sleepers and families with young children. It ran out of coffee makers to provide us one, and lots of activities in the hallway in the middle of the night, which combining with bad sound-proofing will definitely make it hard to sleep. However, the hotel is nicely decorate and staff were friendly and helpful.

Great location, everything was within walking distance.
There is nothing to dislike about the W hotel, very classy and great location.

The W Hotel experience was awesome. If I could choose, I would definitely stay at the W again. Very romantic, everything is within walking distance, just minutes from old town and an amazing view of coronado's beautiful city.

Small but nice rooms.
Not at all for families.

This is not a good place for families. The main entrance is basically into their bar. We were traveling with four children and this was not a welcoming site for the hotel. This was more of a boutique hotel for singles or couples.

Cleanliness, staff, location.
Location, parking.

This is a good upscale hotel which I would recommend to anyone. It is a bit on the pricey side, but compared to some other hotels this is a very decent one.

Clean.
They charge for everything! but everything! extras are extremely expensive. Internet is not free (12.99/ day).

A trendy hotel with great and clean-comfy rooms. It has a problem with target clientèle. They have to decide the customer type they want to attract to the hotel. Trendy techno lovers/ clobbers or business/ family travelers. BTW extras are extremely expensive (Parking, internet, water, delivery fees be warned).

The location was close to all the places we were visiting while in town.
Parking was outrageous @ $28.00 a day plus tip. Only valet parking was available no self service.

The hotel was clean and all staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing we did not like was the price of parking. The only option was valet parking so you had to tip both when you picked your car up in the morning and when you dropped it off at night by that time you were at about $40.00 a day
