Very nice bed and bedclothes.

Very comfortable, business oriented hotel within walking distance of the US Capitol and National Mall. Walking distance to Metro a big plus.

Very convenient, close to Capital and Union Station.
Parking expensive.

Centrally located convenient for access to Capital building and Union Station. Hotel is well maintained for an older building, the staff was very friendly. No early check in available don't plan on getting your room until 4 - 4:30.

The location.
The coffee pot in the bathroom and service was not good.

The hotel was in a great location for the capital and museums. The room view was in an inner courtyard under construction.

The rooms and lobby were very nice.
Hotel may not be run well.

I liked this hotel in terms of the quality of the rooms and the quality of the physical hotel. The hotel staff was friendly but it seemed like the hotel itself had some pretty poor policies that I found very annoying. I don't think that it was the hotel staff's fault, who I found very friendly and helpful, but the hotel management had policies that were irritating. For example: 1) I was told it would be impossible to move my checkout time from noon to 12:30. I understand that a later checkout is a courtesy, but I don't think I've ever been denied one and seriously, a half hour is pretty small. 2) My girlfriend needed some Tylenol at midnight. I was told by the hotel staff that there was nowhere that I could possibly obtain the Tylenol except by taking a cab 15 minutes to Chinatown. I thought this was ridiculous. A nice hotel should at least have some means of providing this sort of thing to a guest. Keep a bottle behind the desk, charge guests a dollar for it, whatever. They told me it was a legal liability for them. Maybe that is true, but I went to the hotel across the street and they were able to provide me with the Tylenol for free and with a smile (guess it wasn't a liability for them). 3) The fire alarm went off and we were told to evacuate. They never announced the fact that the fire alarm was a false alarm, so we were left guessing. 4) Internet access in the business center does not clearly tell you, until after your credit card is charged, that it will cost you a minimum of $13, even if you only use the internet for a minute. 5) Internet access in the rooms costs money too, which is irritating, though at least they tell you this unlike the internet access downstairs where they trick you into paying $13. There are a few more things, but I think I've written enough. Maybe these irritations sound trite, but when summed it was a bit annoying. On a positive note, in particular, the staff at the front door were extremely helpful. read more

This hotel was way more than what I had expected.
The restaurant in the hotel could have been better.

The hotel was the perfect fit for us. The lobby was one of our favorite parts, it was
huge and wide open, elegant and cozy at the same time. We would love to stay here again.
