Located just minutes from the Princess Julianna Airport, The Westin Dawn Beach Resort & Spa, St. Maarten is nestled into the lush hillside and embraced by miles of blue hues, acres of tropical colors, and sandy white beach. 308 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and six suites feature Westin's Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Bath. Our three Presidential oceanfront suites and three Parlor suites are perfect for entertaining. Guest room amenities include an in-room safe, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, refreshment center, ceiling fan, AC, coffee maker, Internet access, oversized bathroom, TV, and a balcony with an island view, ocean view, or oceanfront view. Our resort boasts the largest freshwater infinity edge pool on the island, including a swim-up bar and hot tub. A fitness room and full-service spa will provide the pampering you deserve. 10,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space can welcome 10 to 1,000 people. The pool and beach area were very pretty.
The hotel bar/casino was strangely placed very cold.

The bathroom was rather mildew, but big. The lower pool was very dirty things blow into the pool but were never cleared out. It is very windy at the pool, the beach is very rough waves and undertow. The only place to get a drink at night is inside at this very strangely located bar right at the reception desk area.

great for rest and relaxation. Car is required to explore other parts of the island.

The beach is magical. The beds are too.
The restaurant has a few good items, but is super pricey and not very good.

The Westin Dawn Beach is first and foremost a Westin. That corporate feel pervades everything, which is great when considering cleanliness, an attentive staff, and the heavenly bed/bath. The positives are the pool and the large, basically private beach great for sunning, swimming, and snorkeling. The negatives are a pricey and lousy restaurant + a relatively secluded location, making it tough to reach other locations. We recommend you eat breakfast there, but find other options for lunch and dinner.
