This hotel is a nice spot for visiting Fairbanks: considerate staff and a step beyond Alaskana.

The north tower is a new addition and is well worth the money to stay in. However, the south tower leaves much to be desired.

and bathtub drains did not drain fast enough.
Hotel staff was fairly friendly. Need to work a little on professionalism (staff I interacted with were mostly pretty young). Need to work on courtesy and eye-contact. Had to request that mattress pad be changed (had hairs on it). Fortunately, hotel was mostly empty and was able to get a suite with mini-fridge & microwave upon request. Continental breakfast was fair. Not only was fridge containing juice & yogurt not cold enough, yogurt was outdated. read more

A very nice hotel in Fairbanks with great facilities. Great bar and restaurant staff, but poor front desk staff.

Has a nice lobby.
Restaurant was not open in the am, no room service before 5 pm. Ice machine was jammed and smashed my wife’s finger.
Hotel lobby was nice, room was ok, restaurant was not open in the morning and no room service prior to 5 pm. Bartender could not poor a drink to save her life. Ice machine smashed my wife’s finger because it was jammed. No extras in room, fridge etc.

The new tower.
We were given a room in the old tower which smelled like smoke. Then gave a different card for incidentals that card was then charged for the hotel.
The front staff person was not friendly. The room after we were moved to the new tower was great. I know there was a huge convention that just ended, which probably had something to do with the service.

There is anything bad to say!
The security, cleanliness, and staff were of the highest standards; the only thing that I can think of that the Westmark could use is a swimming pool. We had a wonderful Easter weekend in Fairbanks staying at the Westmark. When we return to Fairbanks again soon you can bet we will be staying there again!
