Nice setting.

It was a beautiful location but the hotel needs work - it looked tired. There were broken tiles in lobby, the no smoking room smelled of stale smoke with an overlay of air freshener.

The pool was fantastic.
Location, stairs, beach and service.

The staff overall is not very friendly. The only thing that saved this trip was a few individuals of the staff that went above and beyond at the hotel. If you have any physical ailment that keeps you from walking then stay at another resort. Four flights of stairs down the side of a hill to get to the beach and pool. The shuttle runs on island time even thought the sign every 15 minutes. The restaurants on site are very expensive for a buffet setting. Lunch for two $50.00 no matter what you get and that was the only option unless you took a five to ten dollar taxi ride to a restaurant. If you are a non smoker ask for a noon smoking room we made that mistake and the smell was horrible. Ocean views are worth the money, especially at night with the moon and the stars and the lights of St. John's, over all would return. read more

Picturesque.
Bugs outside at dusk.

Nice hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer but we hope to go back. Decent gym. Nice pools and small but pretty beach. Food was decent. Very pretty spot with nice views. Rooms were nice, clean, nice bath and I liked that they had safes.

Location, setting, friendly staff.
Mosquitoes, limited dining choices, no free Internet.

This is a very nice resort. Although reviews I have read scared me, being there proved all negatives wrong. It is renovated, kept clean, very friendly staff, shuttle available if you do not want to do any walking or steps at all. Their dining choices although limited are good quality. Prices are very appropriate. Location, beach, pools, amenities are all very good.

The landscaping and outdoor pool area was fantastic. The views from the room and balcony were also great.
The food was overpriced for the quality.

Overall I liked it. About 15 minutes to town 25 minutes to airport, 5 minutes to the ferry that went to St. Johns. The pool area and landscape were great. The views were great. The food and the overpriced nature of it were my only disappointment. The food should be better.

Beautiful views
Tiny, rocky beach. Crowded swiming pool because of limited beach.

Overall I enjoyed The Whyndham Sugar Bay. The main thing I did not like was the beach. It was small and looked man made. It was also very rocky in the ocean. The small beach made the pool more crowded. However, the staff was very nice and the views were great.

One of the good hotel in st. thomas
The quality was degrading compared to my staying 3 years ago

The food as all-Inclusive hotel was not as good as other 4 stars all-inclusive, the price for all-inclusive is also much higher than other 4 stars hotel. But as EU plan, the hotel is great.
