Equal parts "unpretentious" "neighborhood" hangout and "elegant" "big-city" joint, this "upscale" SoCo "mainstay" – and Austin's Most Popular restaurant – is "almost impossible to get into" thanks to its "fantastic" Italian cuisine ("delicious homemade pastas", "tempting specials") and "great wines" brought from the open kitchen by an "outstanding" staff; because of a no-reservations policy on weekends, there's "always a line", but those in-the-know "steal a seat at the bar" and pass the "waits" with some stellar "people-watching."
