Unaway Hotel Bologna Fiera

I don't usually take time to do these surveys, but for a four star hotel this was a big disappointment. The hotel's clean but sterile facility was bland, location poor. Because there was no way to control the ridiculously overheated room, we opened the windows. The busy street nearby and truck traffic necessitated ear plugs. Location is in the Fiera area (Convention Center), with a nearby bus which will take you into town. Recommended if you arrive by private car; free parking. Not for someone arriving by train or plane. Very few dining choices in the immediate area. This did not bother us, but it might concern others.

"Plain Jane" hotel should not be rated 4 star. Hotel staff knowledgeable and helpful. Cleaning people very good, room kept very clean with all amenities. No control on the thermostat and had to keep windows open. Huge construction project across street.

Staff was helpful in planning our excursions but sent us to two restaurants that were closed for a few weeks. The rooms were newer style and clean. The pool was nice.

Nice hotel next to convention center, which does not have events during the summer. I would have preferred a location inside the city walls. However local buses are available. Taxi ride to airport was 15 Euros, from train station was 8 Euros.

Typical business type hotel. Standard Holiday Inn amenities and atmosphere. Somewhat outside the central city. But clean and well kept.
