Hotel Guest Reviews of the University Place Hotel And Conference Center

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Price was "reasonable", the amenities were decent, included breakfast was a nice bonus.
I felt like it was a little pricey for mid-week. But it isn't too far by cab to most of the west side.

Chose this hotel as a last minute place to sleep for the night. I wanted the cheapest thing that I felt like wouldn't have bed bugs. It seemed clean, but I really only stayed for the night. Didn't use the shower, pool, or anything really.

Free breakfast was good.
The photos for the building have to be photoshopped as it is more run down looking than the photo I was basing it on. Also, they charged $12 per night to park there which is too much for its location.

It was easy to find off the highway. Their restaurant is only open for dinner but you are a few blocks from the street food vendors that is cash only if you are willing to give that a shot. The rooms were private access which was nice but it was semi confusing to find your way around the different wings to get to the higher floors. The rooms furniture, bed, lamps...etc are decent. Rooms are outdated with peeling wallpaper. Overall it is a little too spendy for its location and amenities. ...read more

The hotel was dated and dirty, internet access was impossible to connect with b/c they use the university's wireless and do not seem to be affiiated with the university in any other way than the hotel's name. The linen on the bed was dirty too.

This hotel was dirty and unkempt. The pictures used to represent it on Priceline looked like they had been doctored through a paint program b/c the hotel looked nothing like what it was supposed to. The breakfast was horrible and they charged for parking. This hotel was hard to access from the street b/c of a huge construction project which is likely to take months in order to finish. ...read more

nothing!
Their technology need to be updated, they don't accept debit cards. Their policies on credit card us is out dated. It was hard to find the hotel and get to it due to location and construction. Rooms are old and full of asbestos!

Save your money and time and don't stay here!

The hotel staff were not very helpful when my friends car was broken into to locate a place to get it fixed. You have to pay $12 per night for parking. The linens on the bed were old and had holes in them. Loactionally was far from most points of interest

Affordable price, unlimited free internet, self-service laundry machines.
Only 10 TV stations when literature in the room said there were 30 or so stations. Door to my room did not have a skirt at the bottom, so very cold draft permeated the room, had to put towel on floor to block draft.

A far walk from anything in downtown portland. Safe area, has an unfortunate motel feeling, though. No biggie for a traveling bachelor saving money while traveling, but not ideal for families or couples seeking comfortable, clean, appealing accomodations.

It was close to Portland Community College. The workout room was large and the treadmill was updated.
There were bugs in my room. The door to outside rattled. The room, elevator and halls smelled of mildew.

I would not stay at this hotel again. The upkeep of the hotel was below average.

It had a Keurig Coffee maker.
The Hallways were dingy and smelled.

Good location for University goers. Close to free downtown metro rail. Room was OK. Keurig coffee maker was unexpected. But although the room was clean, the hallways smell and are a bit dingy needs new carpeting.

Walking convenience to town
The carpet in the room smelled, maybe like a dog. Window a.c. Was annoying as it blew the drapery

Seemed very old and definitely needs updating. The breakfast buffet was not good. The scrambled eggs were not edible as they were fake eggs. Probably dried or powdered.
