Hotel Guest Reviews of the W Hollywood

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Ambiance, friendly staff, early check in

Comfortable beds, friendly staff, parking for guest is $36/day, very convenient location to night life, no extra cost to use gym, a lot of tourist attractions are really close by. The Grove is like a 5-10 min drive away. Universal Studio's is 8 mins away. LAX is half hour away with no traffic. Gorgeous hotel with high class ambiance. Pool parties are every Friday and Saturdays at Drais. It's pet friendly. They even have a meals for cats and dogs on the room service menu. Cons: Room service charges 20% gratuity, $4 delivery, and some other service charge, but it's 24 hours. Drais (night club) is located on the top of the hotel. It's $20 to get in. The W Hotel said that the club is separate from the hotel and Drais does not give discount to hotel guest, however you can sign up on Drais guest list online and it would be $10pp. Don't expect to take a nap during the day on a Fri or Sat. The music and people from Drais is quite loud. Late check out is at 1pm. ...read more

The W is glitsy in the lobby and by reputation but the room we had was in the back, away from the clubbing, and very quiet. The staff to the person was friendly and helpful.
They do need to clean up the room service left overs that were in the hall faster.

Central location was good but there are not many services close to the hotel compared with some others. There was a Trader Joes and a couple of good restaurants down near Sunset Blvd.

the location was good. Room itself, clean and good decorated.
Almost all night party in the club.. noisy place. The room was so small.

I stayed for family travel. If you want to have a party or have club experience, It can be a good choice. But, not for the family travel. In the club in the lobby, there is a lot of people play till dawn. The sound of music and the noise of peoples all over the night and they go to bed room with lots of noise too. The room is well-decorated. But, very small. The location is not bad. It takes only about 30 minutes by walk to the chinese theater. If I have a plan to go that area, I'll choose other place to sleep. ...read more

The pool area was very nice. The staff was extremely polite and helpful.
There was no self parking.

I would not recommend the hotel if you have small children. Close to attractions, less than a 5 minute drive to Universal Studios. Short drive to Santa Monica Pier.

the decor , spa and the staff
there was dust all over everything in the room, the shower was grimey. tons of finger prints all over the elevators everytime we used them, (three night stay) hotel is so dimly lit, that on closer inspection, just seemed dirty .

they put a
xxx hold on your card at check in regardless of how much you pay for your room. parking in their garage is $40.00 a night

Athough being on the hollywood walk of fame, be careful after dark, there are alot of homeless begging for money etc. although a local waitress comforted us in telling us that the whole street has video surveillance.

There are some amazing restuarants just up from the hotel - in an area called Janes house - it seems to be where alot of locals go. There is a fantastic Meditteranean restarant hidden in the back of the area (its also a hookah lounge) even if you dont want to smoke hookah the food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Our server Alex was AMAZING, she has so many good tips for our trip ...read more

Location is good. Close to sightseeing spots in Hollywood.
Hotel staff are a bit snobby. We asked a front desk girl if they have decaf coffee and she said the hotel doesn't carry decaf. Which was odd, but she unapologetically and arrogantly just said no. Too bad the staff is a poor representation of the hotel.

Good location
The staff reception were very rude.

The money you spend at this hotel is not worth the service you receive. I would not recommend this hotel.
