I like W hotels; this one was just as wonderful as others I've stayed in. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, very welcoming.

Staff was extremely helpful and the room was very comfortable. Loved the atmosphere and the location was great.
Parking very difficult and their garage rates were super expensive. Make sure get a rate that includes in-room wi-fi if you need it.

Take advantage of happy hour and public transportation that is right by the hotel. Room was very luxurious. If you have to have a car, be prepared to deal with the difficulties of on street parking or pay a lot of money to utilize their garage service.

I used my VISA card in only one location in California - front desk of this hotel. One day later my card was compromised with unauthorized charges from several "companies". Seems like this location has the origin of credit card atempts.

The staff was friendly. Room service food tasty.
On Saturday nights, it is a nightclub. I didn't get to sleep until 3am and after several calls to staff.

It's a pretty space. Bed quite comfy! I would not recommend staying Friday or Saturday night unless you want to be up all night in a rave.

Location was amazing. Service was fantastic. The W really nails their brand - each touch point is well thought out and delivered well. Love the decor.
My bed was a bit saggy, but no big deal. The linens were great and it was still comfy.

Location is amazing. Loved the guys at the door - so attentive!

Clean feel and look.

Clean, nice, looked good, nice rooms. Staff changed the elevator carpets for "good morning" to "good evening" every night.

W has a great location in Downtown SD. It's relatively new and has a fun atmosphere.

W has a great location in Downtown SD. It's relatively new and has a fun atmosphere. You can still have a quality sleep without missing out in the fun. It's located two to three blocks from Little Italy. Unlike hotels in the Gaslamp District, parking and noise level is much better.

Its your standard up scale hotel.
Valet parking is over priced.

Overall, my stay at the hotel was pleasant. When I checked out, I did have an issue with my bill. I was charged for water that I never took. The front desk immediately removed the charge without question. There is a Rite Aid about 5 blocks away, so every morning I went there to buy water. My only dislike was paying $35 per day for valet to park my car across the street in an uncovered parking lot. ...read more
