Hotel Guest Reviews of the Waldorf Astoria New York

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Was awesome to stay in a NYC landmark!
The amenities were kind of lacking in the room - no coffee maker, no free wifi, etc.

I am sure room service is exceptional, but at the prices listed in the menu, it isn't something we were even tempted to try! Bring your own snacks and drinks because there aren't any vending machines in the hotel that we could find. There were some drug stores within a short walk, but when you're hungry/thirsty at 1am, that isn't a viable option. :) The staff was friendly and helpful and will definitely hope to get this hotel on future bids! ...read more

Historic nature of the property
Room amenities, and the water pressure.

The Waldorf hotel is beautiful. The staff was very pleasant. One very nice touch was when the front desk called about 10 min after we made it into the room to check if everything was okay. The hotel is old and therefor has some issues... The hot water pressure was terrible. There really wasn't any furniture to unpack. And the location, while at one time probably a perfect location, we found ourselves wanting to be in a less business like area. Park Ave & Madison Ave is chock full of office towers, ultra expensive restaurants, and tourist traps. I would recommend The Village or Chelsea. ...read more

I really like its location, very close to 5th Ave, and everywhere.

Location and ambiance of the lobby.
Bathrooms felt outdated, shower wasn't ideal.

Not worth the full price, but a great Priceline option!

Everything.

Beautiful historic hotel. Everything done first class. Food and drinks are pricey, but as expected.

so elegant!
My only complaints are that the wallpaper in my room was peeling and that I had read that they had free shoe shines if you left your shoes out, and I was charged $20 (+ the $6 I had tipped) for two pair of shoes.

A beautiful hotel, and good location. Food and drinks in the hotel (especially room service) are truely offensively expensive, even by NY standards, but the room was lovely, and the staff were very professional. I would definitely stay there again, as long as the price was right.

Everything about the hotel was fantastic and true to its name - with the sole exception of the heating system. Although the room had its own thermostat, the system ignored it, so the room was 74% continually all night - making sleep very difficult.
