Hotel Guest Reviews of the Waldorf Astoria New York

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Loved the old-fashioned elegance!
Slow elevators, and bathroom needed more counter space

A beautiful, elegant hotel in Midtown Manhattan. I felt like I was transported to 1920's New York City. The location was great-- close to a couple of different subway lines. Easy walking distance to Times Square and Rockefeller Center. The only negatives were the very slow elevators and although the room and bathroom were beautiful, I would have appreciated more counter space in the bathroom. ...read more

Great location in midtown Manhattan.
Room was is terrible shape. Cracks and peeling wall paper. Outdated everything. Tv would scramble every 5 minutes. Check-in took 25 minutes, you should expect and get better.

Historic nature of the property
Room amenities, and the water pressure.

The Waldorf hotel is beautiful. The staff was very pleasant. One very nice touch was when the front desk called about 10 min after we made it into the room to check if everything was okay. The hotel is old and therefor has some issues... The hot water pressure was terrible. There really wasn't any furniture to unpack. And the location, while at one time probably a perfect location, we found ourselves wanting to be in a less business like area. Park Ave & Madison Ave is chock full of office towers, ultra expensive restaurants, and tourist traps. I would recommend The Village or Chelsea. ...read more

Location and ambiance of the lobby.
Bathrooms felt outdated, shower wasn't ideal.

Not worth the full price, but a great Priceline option!

Everything.

Beautiful historic hotel. Everything done first class. Food and drinks are pricey, but as expected.

It is the waldorf astoria for goodness sake! What's not to like!
we arrived at 7pm and the clerk told us that there were only smoking rooms left. (said they couldn't guarantee non-smoking because we booked on priceline. fortunately she made arrangements for us to move the next day and that room was terrific.

Waldorf Astoria was fantastic. Rooms were large by NYC standards. Comfey beds...The soap smells like cloves (wife thought that was awsome.) Common areas are opulent. Wonderful history goes along with this fine old hotel. Most expensive martini I ever had in their steak house the Bull and Bear. $21!!! Also $100 pp for the Sunday brunch. We didn't even think about it.Stay at the Waldorf for a great priceline rate and eat/drink elsewhere! ...read more

We had a terrible experience as the room was extremely outdated and the temperature was extremely warm. We were advised that the buildings air conditioning was off and the best they could do was provide a fan. It did not help and we wound up checking out

Reception gave us a great room at a very reasonable price. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location of course perfect.
The only glitch--my wife and I checked in separately, and the hotel did not have her name even though I watched while reception typed it in. She was not allowed to go up to the room--embarrassing and inconvenient. It took three tries to fix the record.
